HOW TO SET YOUR PINION ANGLES FOR A C/V SHAFT. WE WANT THE PINION 2 DEGREE'S DOWN IN RELATION TO THE DRIVELINE
IF you have an end yoke style system -for the measurement we will have you measure from the center of the u -joint to the center of the u joint (or end of yoke to end of yoke)
FLANGE SYSTEMS -If you have a flange system (usually toyota ) We will measure from flange face to flange face . ANGLES ON REAR SHAFTS W/ CV'S- On rear driveline's with a c/v conversion we like the pinion to be rolled to be 2 degree's down first then measure . ANGLES ********If you can get angles this helps- We will first get the t-case angle usually off the trans pan and or engine pan-or valve cover- (if not available put the angle finder on the face of the flange or yoke (WHEN STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN) and subtract from 90- ) then moch up the driveline angle with a piece of string or a straight stick-from center of nut to center of nut the angle the shaft will be -put the angle finder on the that-. on street-able applications in general we like to see the operating angle (the t-case and driveline angle together) at or under 22 degree's for the best life on the freeway. We do have higher angle c/v's but do not recommend running those at freeways speeds for longer periods of time. SLIP YOKE SYSTEMS -If you have a slip yoke style t-case a 241-and or 208 and are staying with that style -we measure again with the pinion rolled to match the driveline angle from end of t-case spline to center Of rear u joint . 2 PIECE FORD SUPER DUTY'S -Measure from the flange face to center of the carrier bearing bolt holes -then the center of the carrier to either the flanges face (usually 2001 and newer ) and or to the center of the U joint at the alxe if that applies. DODGE 2 PIECE SHAFTS - Slip yoke style -measure from the end of the spline on the t-case to the center of carrier brg. bolt then from center of carrier brg bolt to the flange face on the axle .
