 The top shaft is called a fixed midship -the bottom a slip midship - Its obvious the top fixed miship

 would have an advantage because the angles would be better due the where the U joint starts to

make its angle -the fixed midship is usually considered to be the best and strongest unit- the slip

midship is cheaper but we feel short changes you the customer because of the angles factor -On

both of these we have shown the stainless steel pillow block carrier bearing ( this is the strongest

on the market) we have not seen ones fail- the cast iron one's are cheaper but prone to cracking. .
